Provenance

Share of total-HBM REVENUE by vendor, one basis throughout. Quarterly: Counterpoint Research, 'Global HBM Market Share by Revenue' (its table as published 2026-09-01, modified 2026-09-18; Counterpoint revises past quarters and rounds, so a quarter can total 101%). Annual: IDC full-year actuals (Worldwide DRAM Demand and Supply, S. Kim, 2026-05-27), as charted in SK hynix's SEC prospectus (Form 424B4, 2026-07-09). Bit-shipment share is a different basis (Counterpoint publishes it separately; Q2 2025 was 62/17/21 by shipments against 64/15/21 by revenue) and is tracked in capacity_signals, never charted here.

Basis: share of revenue

Share of total-HBM REVENUE. Quarterly rows are Counterpoint Research's revenue table; annual rows are IDC full-year revenue actuals. Counterpoint also publishes a bit-shipment cut, which runs materially different where vendors discount (Samsung); our capacity_signals hbm_bit_share metric is that series; never chart the two as one. Corrected 2026-10-06 (owner ruling): the 2026-08-22 restatement had taken TrendForce figures for full-year revenue prints, but every public TrendForce HBM share figure is a forecast that states no basis (2023 = its April 2023 forecast 53/38/9; 2024 = its April 2024 forecast 52.5/42.4; 2025 = its August 2025 forecast 52.3/28.7/19). Those rows and the unsourced 2026E row were removed; 2024 and 2025 are IDC actuals; the Q2 2025 row, which carried Counterpoint's shipment cut (62/17/21), now carries its revenue cut (64/15/21).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SK Hynix losing HBM market share?
Its lead has narrowed. By revenue, SK Hynix went from 64% of HBM in Q2 2025 to 50% in Q2 2026, while Samsung rose from 15% to 33% (Counterpoint Research). On IDC's full-year figures SK Hynix held 56.4% in 2024 and 63.2% in 2025. The roughly 90% often quoted for 2023 was its share of the HBM3 generation alone.
Will Micron become a major HBM supplier?
It already is one. Micron took 18% of HBM revenue in Q2 2026 (Counterpoint Research), up from 5.8% of full-year 2024 revenue (IDC), and said in March 2026 that it had brought its HBM share in line with its DRAM share in 2025.
