Cadence

Weekly — the trade-policy routine sweeps Wednesdays 11:04 Pacific; events appear when a government action is published (Federal Register, BIS, MOFCOM, METI…). Empty weeks mean no published action.

Rows are immutable observations (freeze triggers). A wrong reading is corrected by appending a new row and registering the correction; review_status is the only mutable field.

Known gaps

Coverage is strongest for US actions — near-complete since the October 2022 export controls, with major actions back to 2018 backfilled; China countermeasures and EU actions are well covered. Korea, Japan, and Taiwan are captured mainly through English-language secondary sources (law-firm alerts, trade press): national-language primary feeds (MOTIE, METI, MOEA releases) are not yet wired in, so smaller actions there may lag or be missed. Scope today spans export controls, entity listings, licensing policy, subsidies, tariffs, and retaliation; investment-screening decisions (CFIUS, EU FDI) and enforcement actions (penalties, settlements) are not yet covered. Live capture began July 2026 — 108 of 120 events are archive backfill, flagged per row.
